Owner Operator Criteria:
At Agan Global, we are committed to the safe and professional operation of our fleet. To ensure the highest level of safety and quality, the following policy and procedures apply to our owner operator selection process. Adhering to these criteria helps us hire and contract experienced, qualified drivers who meet the stringent requirements set by Agan Global and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
To be considered for employment, driver applicants must meet the following criteria:

Age and Qualifications:
-
Must be at least 23 years old and meet all Federal Motor Carrier Qualifications.

Must have a minimum of two (2) years of verifiable commercial motor vehicle driving experience, preferably including congested urban driving and intermodal driving.

License and Certifications:
-
Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) from the state of residence.

Must be self-certified as non-excepted interstate and have the appropriate classification indicated on their Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Hold a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by the TSA.

Driving Record:
-
No more than three (3) moving violations in the past 36 months and no more than two (2) moving violations in the previous 12 months.

No DOT reportable accidents within the last 12 months.

A suitable Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) approved by the Safety Director.

Language Skills:
-
Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to communicate with the general public and understand highway traffic signs and signals in English.

Traffic Violations and Convictions:
-
No convictions for "serious or disqualifying traffic violations" within the last three (3) years.
-
"Serious or disqualifying traffic violations" include excessive speeding, reckless driving, improper or erratic lane changes, following too closely, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, hit and run offenses, and operating a CMV while using a handheld device.

By upholding these rigorous criteria, we ensure that our owner operators meet the highest safety standards and contribute to the success of our organization. We are dedicated to maintaining a professional and reliable fleet of drivers at Agan Global.
Disqualifying Events:
At Agan Global, we conduct thorough criminal background checks on all applicants. The following convictions are considered disqualifying and may affect eligibility for employment:

DWI/DUI Convictions:
-
No DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) or DUI (Driving Under the Influence) convictions involving alcohol or drugs, whether illegal or prescription, within the last ten (10) years. Management discretion applies to offenses over ten years old. Multiple convictions of DWI or DUI are not permitted.

Sexual Offenses:

No convictions for any sexual-related crimes or offenses. This includes offenses such as rape, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault of a minor, indecency with a child, or any other offense deemed by management to fall within this category.

Assault and Distribution Convictions:

No assault convictions within the last ten (10) years. Distribution convictions involving the use of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) are not permitted.

Felony and Misdemeanor Convictions:
-
No felony convictions within the last ten (10) years. Misdemeanor convictions must be older than five (5) years.

Multiple Convictions:
-
No multiple convictions of criminal activity within the last three (3) years.

Other convictions will be reviewed at the discretion of management. The Safety Department is responsible for the final qualification of driver applicants, ensuring compliance with DOT requirements and Agan Global policies. Exceptions to these policies can only be made by Agan Global management.
Please note that the Safety Department will verify eligibility, and their decision will be based on these criteria.
